Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of Mimir Storage, operated by Mimir Storage ("we", "us"). By creating an account or paying for storage capacity you agree to them.

1. Who you are contracting with
The Mimir Storage service is provided by Mimir Storage. Our order process and payments are conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries relating to billing and handles returns.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration details, keep your credentials secure and are responsible for all activity under your account. Accounts are for a single person or organisation; you may not resell capacity without written permission.
3. Encryption and your keys
Files are encrypted in your browser before leaving your device. Your vault passphrase derives the key that unwraps your files and is never transmitted to us. If you lose it, your data is unrecoverable — by design, we cannot reset it or recover your files.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Storage capacity is sold as a subscription billed every 3 months. Prices are displayed per month; the charge is three months at a time. Fees are charged in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice, effective at your next renewal.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Mimir Storage to store, distribute or process:
- content that is illegal where you or our host nodes are located;
- child sexual abuse material, or content promoting terrorism or violence;
- material you do not have the rights to store or distribute;
- malware, or payloads intended to attack our network or host machines.
You may not attempt to deanonymise host operators, interfere with fragment placement, overload the network, or circumvent quota and integrity controls.
6. Host operators
Hosts pledge disk space on their own machines and receive encrypted fragments only. Hosts must not attempt to decrypt, alter, correlate or exfiltrate fragments, and must not run nodes on infrastructure they do not control. Earnings accrue on stored byte-hours and verified availability; fabricated availability or failed storage proofs forfeit accrued earnings for the affected period.
7. Intellectual property
You retain all rights to your content. We retain all rights to the Mimir Storage software, brand and documentation. Nothing here transfers ownership either way. You grant us only the narrow permission needed to store, transfer and reconstruct the encrypted fragments you upload.
8. Availability
The network uses k-of-n erasure coding so files survive the loss of multiple nodes. We do not, however, warrant uninterrupted availability, and you should keep an independent backup of anything irreplaceable.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, fails payment, or places the network at legal or security risk. Where practical we give notice and an opportunity to correct the issue. On termination you may export your data for 30 days, after which fragments are released and irrecoverable.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of data caused by a lost passphrase.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes are announced in-app before they take effect. Questions about these terms can be sent to Mimir Storage through the contact details on your invoice or receipt.
